剧情：《凡尔杜先生》几年里，法国发生了多起妇女失踪的案件，而失踪的妇女几乎都是小有积蓄的中年妇女，并且她们都是在和一个男人结婚失踪的。凡尔杜是最大的嫌疑人，可此时他还在全国各地周旋于他的几个“妻子”之间，并用花言巧语骗来他们的钱可用于买股票。一天，一位警官司盯上了凡尔杜并准备将他绳之以法。可第二天，这位警官神秘的死在了火车上。
